A New Bowling Alley/Arcade Has Opened in the Corridor [PHOTOS]
Folks in Iowa City now have a fun new place to hangout!
According to a recent article from the Iowa City Press-Citizen, SpareMe has officially opened at 404 College Street inside the Chauncey Building downtown. The article reads:
"The long-anticipated bowling alley, arcade, restaurant and bar in downtown Iowa City had its soft opening this week."
As you can see, SpareMe is not your ordinary bar. The website says that it features 12 bowling lanes, 12 skeeball games, 8 pinball machines, and 13 arcade games. The only thing they don't have yet is food, but the website says that it is "coming soon."
As of right now, SpareMe's hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. They've posted a few photos of the new entertainment venue on the Instagram account @SpareMeIC, and it looks pretty darn awesome! Here are a few of those posts:
SpareMe isn't the only new addition to the Iowa City area! A sports bar attached to Xtream Arena in the Iowa River Landing is set to open soon. Located at 200 East 9th Street in Coralville, the Iowa Athletic Club will offer more than just food and beverages. A press release from the Iowa River Landing says it will also have a "state-of-the-art television and audio system," a big outdoor patio, and a game room. The Press-Citizen adds that skeeball, pinball, and arcade games will be inside the game room. The Iowa Athletic Club is not expected to open until later this year.
