A New Birria Taco Restaurant is Opening Soon in Cedar Rapids

Get ready for some delicious tacos on the northeast side of Cedar Rapids!

Thanks to a series of posts on the Deetz - Let's Support Local! Facebook page, we're now aware of a new restaurant that plans to open up in Cedar Rapids in the very near future. Right near Lindale Mall across from Taco John's at 4444 1st Avenue NE, Birria Tacos is getting close to welcoming customers! The latest update from owner Stephen Range reads:

"Kitchen layout is all done. Soon we will be offering the best birria food and menu in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Our location is 4444 1st Ave NE Suite 3001 by Lindale Mall (right across the street from Taco John’s). The building will be called Rapid Foods. Our restaurant inside of Rapids Foods will be called Birria Tacos."

Apparently, Birria Tacos won't be the only restaurant inside of Rapid Foods. A comment from Stephen Range says that the large building will have 20 kitchens on the inside! It's the same building that was once home to Planet X Fun Center, which closed back in 2017. It appears that the business has been undergoing a major transformation.

Birria Tacos will not only serve tacos, but other birria creations, as well. Stephen has mentioned his Birria Nachos, Birria Corn, Birria Chili, Birria Salad, and Birria Eggrolls on Facebook in the past. From what I've seen, everything looks incredible! Plus, local celebrity Joe Sample has given it his stamp of approval.
