A Midwest Restaurant Has Gone Viral for a Very Unusual Pizza
I've tried some out-of-the-ordinary pizzas over the years. I've eaten mac & cheese pizza, mashed potato pizza, crab rangoon pizza, and Big Mac pizza... but I've never had anything like this! A Midwest pizza joint has gone viral for "The Elvis."
As you can see from the photo, The Elvis is not your typical pizza. First, the pie is given a peanut butter base (instead of sauce), and then it's topped with cheese, bacon, and banana slices. After it comes out of the oven, the finishing touch is a drizzle of honey. If you're wondering how it got its name, an article from Mirror reports that "Elvis is said to have enjoyed peanut butter, bacon, and banana sandwiches."
The Elvis recently went viral on social media with over 5,000 shares, but it isn't new to the menu at Roscoe's Pizza in Corwin, Ohio. It's been around since 2020, the year that Roscoe's opened, and people seem to love it! A Facebook review from Nick Robinson reads:
"Absolutely stellar pies. Have yet to have one that isn’t good from all I’ve had. The Elvis though….That brings tears to my eyes it’s so good!"
The Elvis isn't the only usual pizza that Roscoe's Pizza serves! Their menu features the The Cuban, Jalapeno Popper, Midland Chicken Parm, Chicken & Waffles, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and Loretta's Pickle Pie. If you ever find yourself in the Cincinnati area, the restaurant is open daily at 4 p.m.
