Last night I got a taste of my childhood, and it was delicious!

I don't know about you, but there are lots of foods out there that vividly remind me of being a kid. Just one bite, and it's like I'm instantly 8-years-old again. I got to have that experience last night after my trip to Hy-Vee.

I was near the meat department at the Oakland Road Hy-Vee, when I found myself face-to-face with a display of something I haven't seen in YEARS: Dunkaroos.

If you're not familiar with Dunkaroos, you probably didn't grow up in the 90s. According to Wikipedia, the popular snack launched back in 1990. It consists of tiny cookies that you dip in frosting. The trend eventually died out and the snack was discontinued in 2012, but then early this year, Buzzfeed broke the news that Dunkaroos would be making a triumphant return to shelves here in the U.S. They apparently started popping up at stores back in May, but I didn't come across any until last night. Hy-Vee was selling individual packages of vanilla cookies and vanilla frosting with rainbow sprinkles, the brand's most popular flavor. I picked up one package, for nostalgia's sake, and it cost me $1.69. I ended up pairing it with a pizza Lunchable, because if I was going to relive my childhood, I wanted to do it right. It's not a typical meal for a 29-year-old woman, but it was delicious and I have no regrets.
