Scrolling through Facebook, a post brought back memories of some trauma I went through two years ago.

I was driving in a stock car race when a small piece of debris about the size of a golf ball was shot off another car's rear tire and had the perfect projection to miss everything except my fingers and hand on the steering wheel. It was the perfect storm for something like that to happen. Click Here to see pictures from two years ago.

There was no damage to my car and I still finished the race in 3rd place but was in serious pain the last four laps of the race. My little finger on my right hand and ring finger took the hit. The little finger bone between the hand and knuckle was shattered and the ring finger was broken right where the finger meets the hand. The impact was so hard that it broke the metacarpal bone (on the back of the hand) going to the little finger.

Two years later, I'm still working to get full movement in the little finger. I can almost make a full fist, (see photo below) something the doctor as well as my hand therapist didn't think possible.

I also included what the hand looked like after surgery. The pins held the broken bones in place. Did it hurt having the pins removed? OH YEAH!!! (see photo below)
