If you're into vintage stuff, there's a new store here in the Corridor that you may want to check out!

Last November, a new shop called Vintage 2 Die 4 opened its doors inside the Scolaro Building at 2900 1st Ave NE in Cedar Rapids, the former home of The Cellar Door.  Owners Lynn and Tony Cassady travel the Midwest looking for "all things vintage, kitsch and unusual," and resell the items "without the gouging of big city vintage boutique prices." Their inventory includes furniture, lamps, home decor, clothing, accessories, kitchenware, and more from eight different states!

According to the Vintage 2 Die 4 Facebook page, the business' slogan is "We have the best dead people's stuff!" The came from owner Lynn, who would always say, "are you ready to go buy some dead people's stuff?!" when she was on the hunt for vintage items with her husband. The slogan is the reason for a lot of the interesting decor inside the shop, including the skeletons posed in the front window.

Vintage 2 Die 4's website encourages Iowans to join the vintage movement because it helps to reduce waste. It also mentions that shoppers are helping to give back to the community. The page reads:

"We have teamed up with a wonderful nonprofit, Central Furniture Rescue they furnish homes for homeless families when they transition out of homelessness. Each month we will be donating a percentage of what we make to them. It's our way of giving back to such an important cause."

Vintage 2 Die 4 is open Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will host their official grand opening on Saturday, April 8th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, you can follow their Facebook page for the latest updates HERE.
