A Comedy Show & Rock Band are Coming to the 2023 Iowa State Fair

We got a couple of big announcements from the Iowa State Fair this week! Two more acts for the Grandstand Stage were revealed this morning (April 5th) - one concert and one comedy show.

First up is the musical act! On Monday, August 14th, rock band The Black Keys will take the stage with opening act The Velveteers. The Black Keys first formed in 2001 and have released ten albums throughout their career so far. Two of their biggest songs include "Tighten Up" and "Lonely Boy," which were both awarded Grammys for Best Rock Song. Their 2011 album Brothers and 2013 album El Camino have also won Grammy awards.

Up next in the lineup is comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham! His 'Still Not Canceled' Tour will be making a stop at the Iowa State Fair on Tuesday, August 15th at 8 p.m. The fair's website describes Jeff as a "comedy superstar and one of the world’s most inventive entertainers." He's had countless sold-out tours, has set a few Guinness World Records, he's a best-selling author, and he even had the most-watched comedy special of 2022! Walter, Peanut, Achmed, and Bubba are sure to be in attendance when Jeff hits Des Moines later this summer.

Tickets for both The Black Keys and Jeff Dunham will go on sale this Friday, April 7th at 10 a.m. You can purchase your tickets on the Iowa State Fair website.
