Free Entertainment Announced for 2023 Iowa State Fair
As hard as it is to believe, the 2023 Iowa State Fair starts on Thursday, August 10. There will be 11 headline acts who will perform at the main grandstand during fair and plenty of free entertainment around the fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Let's get right to it, with the free entertainment lineup at the Susan Knapp Amphitheater:
- August 10: Priscilla Block (country artist currently on tour with Justin Moore, she plays the stage on the opening day of the fair.)
- August 11 Blake Guyre (Tribute to Elton John/Billy Joel)
- August 12 Shane Profitt (Debut single "How It Oughta Be" was a Top 20 country hit)
- August 13 Nate Smith (country newcomer touring with Thomas Rhett now, and Cole Swindell this fall)
- August 14-15 Hairball (arena rock tribute band)
- August 16 Ned LeDoux (son of late country great Chris LeDoux)
- August 17 Megan Moroney (Georgia native who's burst onto the country scene with "Tennessee Orange".)
- August 18 Ingrid Andress (she opened for country superstar Keith Urban at the 2022 Iowa State Fair)
- August 19 Claire Rosinkranz (pop rock singer signed her record deal at 16)
- August 20 Asleep at the Wheel (longtime western swing band)

- August 10-11 Rockland Road (country band with 6-part harmony and pop/r&b influence).

- August 19 Country Gold – LeRoy Van Dyke, Mandy Barnett, David Frizzell
- August 20 CAIN (Christian country trio)
On the MidAmerican Energy Stage:
- August 10 Jason Brown (country singer/songwriter from Iowa)
- August 11 The Nadas (alternative, americana, country, folk, indie, rock band from Des Moines)
- August 12 Good To Be King (A Tribute to Tom Petty)
- August 13 Renata (country sibling trio)
- August 14 Autograph (glam metal band)
- August 15 Vixen (rock band)
- August 16 Great White (rock band)
- August 17 TBA
- August 18 Paradise Kitty (All Girl Guns N'Roses)
- August 19 Bob Dorr's Iowa Music Revue
- August 20 Junior Marvin & the Legendary Wailers (music of Bob Marley)
The Fun Forest Stage will feature comedy and tricks by Fantastick Patrick as well as the Barrel O'Fun magic show, both from August 10 through 20.
As you're making your way around the fairgrounds, you'll also see chainsaw artists, Bruno's Tiger Show, The Red Trouser Show, Bandaloni (one-man band), The Strolling Piano, transforming robot vehicles (Robocars), sandscapes, Brian Sobaski's Straw Art, and more.
The theme for the 2023 Iowa State Fair is BEST DAYS EVER! It certainly looks like they will be.
