With another winter storm set to hit the area again today, it might be a little difficult to start thinking about some of our favorite warm weather activities. The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance has its eyes on warmer days as it has released the 2019 schedule for the downtown farmer's markets.

Farmer's markets will be held in downtown Cedar Rapids from the hours of 7:30 a.m. until noon on the following Saturdays.

  • May 25th
  • June 1st
  • June 15th
  • July 6th
  • July 20th
  • August 3rd
  • August 17th
  • September 21st

The popular market after dark event will also return in 2019 and will be held on Saturday, August 24th from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. In response to feedback from both vendors and visitors, the final market of the year will be a bit later than normal, held on the third Saturday in September. Officials say this will allow vendors to sell more fall based goods than in previous years.

Nearly 14,000 people visit the over 200 vendors at each market in Cedar Rapids.
