1st Annual NewBo Lager Olympics This Weekend

Here's another fun event to put on your jam-packed weekend docket.

In addition to Uptown Friday Nights, the first Downtown Farmers' Market of the season and a wide array of other activities and events this first weekend in June, add another item to your list.

NewBo City Market, along with the Metro North Rotary of Cedar Rapids are sponsoring the "Lager 'Lympics" on Saturday, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at NewBo City Market.

It's your chance to sample some of the best local craft beers, poured directly by the brewers, along with live music and food from NewBo City Market vendors. You can even get a souvenir mug, pretzel necklace and try your hand at some yard games.

All proceeds benefit a great cause, supporting Metro North Rotary, Metro High School and the Boys & Girls Clubs.
