If your house is like mine this Christmas, it features a real tree. There is just something about a real Christmas tree. Picking it out, chopping it down at the nursery, and of course the smell the fills your house once you get it put up. But real trees can be a fire hazard, especially if you don't water them enough.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has released a video showing just how fast a dry Christmas tree can go up in flames. It shows two trees side by side. One has been watered enough, while the other is way too dry. Things can go bad in a matter of seconds.

If you have a real tree, water it every day. They can suck up to a gallon of water per day! Also, keep your tree away from heating sources and heating vents. Also, don't put too many lights on the tree, and turn those lights OFF when you go to bed.
