Let's get this out of the way. Yes, I'm a registered Democrat. I have been since I was able to vote. However, I've voted for Republicans too. I've never voted a straight party ticket. I've always believed in voting for who I think is the best candidate no matter the party. It was with that thought in mind that I tuned into the first GOP Presidential Debate last night on Fox News. All right, I'll be honest. It was to watch Trump.

The GOP field is so crowded that they actually held TWO debates last night. I tuned into the second one filled with the heavy hitters. All eyes were on Donald Trump. The billionaire is sitting high in the polls and he isn't afraid to speak his mind. You either love that or hate that about Trump. I'll be honest. The guy has no shot at the nomination. I think the reason he's so high in the polls is that he's able to express the anger of Republicans without any filter. But when we get closer to the caucuses and primaries, Trump will fade and someone with a real chance will rise up. That's what I wanted to find out in last night's debate. Who could that person be?

Is it early? Yes. But I love the political process. It fascinates me how one bad performance at a debate could end your chances. Talk about pressure! Trump may be the talk of the party now, but when things get serious, Trump will just like his hair. Left flopping in the wind.
