Who Will YOU Memorialize?

Today is Memorial Day and there will be ceremonies all over the country to remember those we've lost. Is there a special person or persons in your life that you memorialize?I memorialize my father, David Beaty.

My dad served in the U.S. Army, and was discharged just before the Vietnam War began and I know that he always felt fortunate that he was able to stay home with his new wife (my mom). My dad never really talked about serving time in the service, unless we had questions to ask. We still have a collection of medals, hats, and other stuff from his time in the service and we go through them on occasion.

My dad passed away in 1991 after a short battle with cancer. He didn't face enemy fire (like so many did and still do) while in the service. But he was a hero who I will memorialize today.
