A Thousand Horses is one of country music's hottest new acts and has been named by several media outlets as "ones to watch."

Billboard Magazine recently described them as a blend of 90's rock band, The Black Crowes, mixed in with some 70's-style southern rock of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Marshall Tucker Band. Plus some Tom Petty influence for extra spice.

The new country sensation is taking that blend and moving up the charts swiftly. They're already into the Top 20 at #18 with their first hit, "Smoke."

The band members include Michael Hobby and Bill Satcher from Georgia, and Zach Brown (NOT the Zac Brown from the Zac Brown Band) and Graham DeLoach from South Carolina. There is a connection, though, between A Thousand Horses and The Zac Brown Band, as A Thousand Horses recorded their album "Smoke" at Zac Brown's studio in Nashville.

"Being in the studio was nothing but great. Zac Brown's Southern Ground Studio in Nashville is such an incredible place to cut," Hobby said in a recent interview with Billboard Magazine.

Look for A Thousand Horses' debut album to hit stores this year on June 9 and is also available for pre-order now on iTunes. With an album purchase, fans can download four tracks instantly, including "Smoke."

A Thousand Horses will hit the road on Darius Rucker's Southern Style Tour from May through September along with Brett Eldridge. Let's hope they can land somewhere here in K-HAWK Country this summer too!
