We do NOT agree on this issue.

It's the argument that never ends. This morning when I came into work, I told Brain about my plans to put up my Christmas tree in a couple of weeks. He responded with the biggest eye roll I've ever seen. Brain is a big believer in waiting until after Thanksgiving to start decorating for Christmas, but I think anytime after Halloween is fair game. His reasoning is that he thinks Thanksgiving is less commercialized than Christmas and is more focused on food and family (and football). Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Thanksgiving. I enjoy it even more now that I live far away, because it's just another event where I get to spend time with my family. But, I feel like Christmas is more than just one celebration. It's an entire season of joy and togetherness, rather than just one day. That's why I like to start celebrating as early as possible. I just love the entire spirit of the season, especially since I feel isolated from all of my family and friends for most of the year.

It's your turn to weigh in: when is it ok to start decorating for Christmas? Do you always wait until after Thanksgiving, or do you do things a little bit early? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
