Attending both country shows this weekend in Monticello? Here's some information that'll blow your socks off.

Five country acts take part in two nights of huge shows in Monticello Friday and Saturday night, but something jumped off the page at me this week when I looked at country music's top songs. Here are this week's top five songs:

  1. Carrie Underwood: Church Bells
  2. Florida Georgia Line: H.O.L.Y.
  3. Jason Aldean: Lights Come On
  4. Eric Church: Record Year
  5. Chris Lane: Fix

Ok, so I bolded it to make it obvious, but ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! We'll be hearing three of this week's top five songs from the stage in Monticello this weekend. The chances of this? It's gotta be somewhere around the odds of winning the Powerball. Add the fact that Eric Church was in Monticello last summer (Aldean performed at the Great Jones County Fair in 2011), and we should all count our lucky stars for the level of entertainment this eastern Iowa standard of excellence brings us each year. The fun will continue in 2017.

Friday night, before the 8 p.m. Carrie Underwood/Lauren Alaina show begins we'll announce a 2017 headliner.

Saturday evening, prior to the 7 p.m. beginning of the Florida Georgia Line/Cole Swindell/Chris Lane show we announce another 2017 headliner. There's also another surprise in store Saturday night. A magician will perform before and during the show! His name is Justin Flom. [video below]

After Saturday night's show, listen to 98.1 KHAK as Danielle plays an hour-plus of nothing but Florida Georgia Line, Cole Swindell, and Chris Lane for your drive home.

We'll see you Friday afternoon in Monticello, from our usual spot just inside the main gate. The fun is about to begin!
