UNI Head Coach Ben Jacobson Signs New Contract Extension

UNI men's basketball coach Ben Jacobson has agreed to a 10 year contract extension that will keep him in Cedar Falls through the 2024-25 season. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Jacobson has signed two other 10 year extensions in the past five years. Jacobson has been the head coach at UNI since the 2006 season and has led the Panthers to 3 NCAA Tournament appearances. UNI bowed out in the 3rd round this year after suffering a loss to Louisville.

Jacobson has confirmed in interviews, that there has been interest from other schools. But he says that Northern Iowa is a great fit for he and his wife and children, and that he has a commitment to the Waterloo/Cedar Falls community.
