This week's turn with colder weather is a great reminder that the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are back in action and on home ice this weekend.

The RoughRiders will take on the the Division-leading Chicago Steel on Friday night at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. Face off is at 7:05 p.m.

On Saturday night the team battles their rivals, the Dubuque Fighting Saints at 7:05 p.m. Our own Bob James will be there starting at 6, giving away prizes. Look for him starting at 6 to win!

During Friday's game the Riders will be wearing special Ugly Sweater Jerseys that will be auctioned off on Saturday, December 9th during the Ugly Sweater Jersey Auction.

Fans are encouraged to wear their Ugliest Sweater to the game and bid on the Ugly Sweater Jerseys that the RoughRiders are wearing.

The RoughRiders are struggling a bit on the ice in this early season. But hopes of a more mature team and a more consistent goal production are areas showing improvement according to head coach Mark Carlson, who spoke with us recently about the team's performance. They're currently in 7th place of Eastern Conference of the USHL with a 7-10-1 record on the season so far.
