I know it's only Monday, but I'm already looking forward to this weekend! Summer means outdoor concerts, and there are two popular bands performing here in Cedar Rapids on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday night, The Pork Tornadoes will be taking over the McGrath Amphitheatre for Uptown Friday Nights! Gates are at 5:30 p.m. and the Iowa-based band will kick things off at 6 p.m. As always, the event is 21 and over and it costs $5 to get in. This is the first time the Pork Tornadoes have played in Cedar Rapids since their show at the Paramount Theatre back in February, so you won't want to miss it!

On Saturday night, Veterans Memorial Stadium will replace baseball with rock n' roll! The band Hairball is scheduled to play a concert, with the Large Midgets opening things up at 7:30 p.m. Doors are at 6:30 p.m. and there are two different types of tickets available for purchase. Standing tickets on the field are $25 a piece and general admission seating is $20. The MiLB website reports that tickets will go up $5 the day of the event. I'll be at both events this weekend, so maybe I'll see you there! :)
