One city will see their first location open soon while another could be coming in the near future.

The first Marion Dunkin' Donuts, at the corner of 7th Ave. and 7th St., is scheduled to open in late August. Director of operations for Eastern Iowa Food Service, Andrea Farley, tells the Gazette it will look different than the two locations already open in the corridor. "The Blairs Ferry and Coralville stores were former Sonic locations that we retrofitted. This is ground-up construction so the layout will be a little different. Given Marion’s aesthetic requirements, we had to modify a few things with the store’s design. We have had the Marion location picked out for several years.”

Cedar Rapids could also see a second store soon. Farley says, "We are hopeful to be on the west side of Cedar Rapids in 2017."

Five years ago, Dunkin' Donuts said they were going to develop 12 stores in the corridor from 2012 to 2018. They've still got a long way to go to meet that goal, but they also still have 30 months to make it happen. In the meantime, their coffee, doughnuts, and other tasty items will be coming to Marion in a matter of weeks and west-side Cedar Rapids residents will be watching for a new construction site in the coming months.
