Fall is great time for taking some family pictures. The last two weekends we've gotten together with family and had a friend of ours take some nice outdoor shots. The hardest part? Getting the kids to sit still and cooperate! It's an uphill battle. Short attention spans, sibling rivalries and the many challenges the outdoors can throw at you can make an hour long photo session seem like a day. Our kids, Chase, Carly and Cayleigh, all have different personalities and all present different challenges on picture day.

Chase: Age - 11  The Ring Leader. The straw the stirs the drink. If his sisters are behaving, you can be sure that Chase wants to change that. He does what every big brother would do...torment his younger sisters. Also easily distracted by nature.

Carly: Age - 7  The Free Spirit. Getting Carly to pose for pictures is hard not because she isn't good at it, but because she simply doesn't want to do it. She'd rather talk to the trees, or wander off in her own little world. Focus is an issue. Also afraid of bugs, which can make outdoor photo shoots difficult.

Cayleigh: Age - 5  The Pro. Cayleigh is simply put, a pro at photos. It's an attribute that I give Holly full credit for. This girl is her mom when it comes to taking photos. Follows directions well and can strike a pose and give you a killer smile on command. But, being the youngest, she can be swayed either by her big brother, or her big sister.

3 kids. 3 different personalities. It's why photographers take so many shots. Not all of them turn out. But when they do, it's worth the time! A big thanks to our friend Lori who worked with our kids and no doubt got more winners like this one!
