Eastern Iowa Thanks Sean and Dakota Miller With Townsquare Cares For Military Families

This month, we've been asking for your donations to help support families of actively deployed service men and women in our area, and you came through. We've also been accepting nominations of area military families who could use the extra help this holiday.

We're honored to announce we've awarded a $500 gift to the Miller family, who has two sons, Dakota and Sean, who are currently deployed and will be away this holiday season.  The oldest, Sean, is in Landstuhl, Germany for a 13-month deployment, and Sean is deployed to Afghanistan for 9 months.  They both left earlier this fall within just one month of each other, making this a trying time for the family. They've been busy sending numerous care packages, as they continue to find out about the need for certain necessities: from blankets and pillows to snacks and even soap. The family would like to be able to also send the gift of entertainment to them, by way of a portable DVD player and some movies. The family is very proud of their boys, as we are too.
