Stop at the McGrath Amphitheatre today for live country music and some delicious BBQ!

The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is in full swing, which means a ton of events are going on in the local area the next couple of weeks. One of those events kicks off today, and it's sure to make the downtown area smell DELICIOUS! I mean, just look at this magic:

The Cedar Rapids BBQ Roundup begins today and runs through Sunday at the McGrath Amphitheatre in Cedar Rapids. Some amazing national vendors will be competing for awards like Best Pulled Pork, Best BBQ, and the People’s Choice Award, which is voted on by customers. Today is KHAK Country Day, and that means some great local country groups will be gracing our ears all day long. Today's event goes from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature:

  • 11:30 a.m. B.F. Burt
  • 4 p.m. Insanity DJ
  • 6 p.m. Geoff Landon and Friends
  • 8 p.m. Matthew Kane and the Band Greenbrier

Today and tomorrow you can enjoy a free lunch admission from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with $3 admission for the rest of the weekend. Kids 12 and under are free. There are also free downtown trolleys available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today and tomorrow.
