This marks the third reported attempt to abduct a child in Iowa in the last nine days, in three different communities.

KWWL reports the Marshalltown Police Department is the latest law enforcement agency in the state to investigate an attempted child abduction. It happened around 2 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of West Main Street in Marshalltown.

A man, described as having dark hair and wearing sunglasses, pulled up to a 10-year old girl and offered her money to get into his vehicle, a silver four-door. The girl ran and was uninjured.

This follows incidents in Cedar Falls and just outside of Dike last Tuesday. The man in those attempted abductions was also described as driving a silver four-door and was said to have dark hair and sunglasses.

Please remind your kids of all your rules involving strangers. You can't be too safe.
