We are definitely a Midwest stereotype!

According to a new study published by Thrillist, the most popular condiment in the state of Iowa is ranch dressing! Hidden Valley Ranch, to be exact. The website Influenster analyzed over 50,000 reviews to figure out the results, but I didn't even need to read the list to know what our winner would be.

Growing up in the Midwest, ranch has always been a staple in my diet. I eat it with salads, pizza, literally any form of potato, fried food, sandwiches, and vegetables (on the rare occasion that I eat them). It makes everything taste better! I actually judge restaurants based on the quality of their ranch dressing...

Shockingly, Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing wasn't the most popular condiment in any other Midwest states, but it did come in first for Arkansas, Idaho, Oklahoma, and West Virginia. Here are some of the results for our neighbors:

  • Minnesota - Nature's Way Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
  • Missouri - French's Classic Yellow Mustard
  • Nebraska - Sriracha Chili Sauce
  • Wisconsin - Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise
  • South Dakota - JIF Peanut Butter
  • Illinois - Country Crock
