While we had a beautiful and very calm weather weekend in Iowa, that wasn't the case to our west.  The above photo is of a supercell thunderstorm, taken yesterday near Clareton, Wyoming.  I don't believe I've ever seen anything like it.  It makes me think of two things:  A spaceship about to land or the end of the world.  Thankfully it was neither.

Keep your eyes on the sky and your ears to the radio as we're in the heart of severe weather season in Iowa.  Let's hope we don't see anything that remotely resembles this one.
