The Mavericks have completed the follow-up to their 2013 reunion album, 'In Time.'

'In Time' was the band's first studio release in 10 years, and lead singer Raul Malo says that they have completed their next release.

"We just finished recording a new album that will be out next year. The circle continues," he tells Rolling Stone Country. "We have had a great run, and it continues to get better, and we're having more fun then ever before."

The untitled project will feature all-new material from the Mavericks. It was produced by Malo and Niko Bolas, and like 'In Time,' it will also be released on Big Machine Label Group.

"You know, they did right by us," Malo says of Big Machine. "Heck, they let us make a record at this stage. I know people probably have a hard time imagining this, but it's not the easiest thing to get these days, to be able to make records and have a record contract."

The band, which includes Malo along with bassist Robert Reynolds, guitarist Eddie Perez, drummer Paul Deakin and keyboard player Jerry Dale McFadden, spent the spring on their Twenty-Five Live Tour to celebrate 25 years of touring.

“Everywhere we went, no matter where we went, people asked, and I always took it with a grain of salt,” Malo tells The Boot about their reunion. “I thought it would die down, I didn’t really think it would continue, but no matter what language I sang in, or what part of the world, it was always, ‘When are the Mavericks getting back together? What are the Mavericks doing?’

"Now we’ve been out, and the fans have been amazing. So we really owe a lot of this to them and their love of the band.”
