“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.”

World Book Day is coming up on Sunday, and in honor of that, the website Decluttr put together a list of the great American novels that each state loves the most. The list is based off of Google search data for 20 of the most popular novels in America.

When I was in school, the class I always did the best in was English. I've always had a passion for reading, and I was introduced to so many wonderful books over the course of my school career. I was never the kid who just skimmed Spark Notes, I read all the books from front to back. I even ended up taking AP English my senior year. I know, I know... I'm a book nerd. But I'm cool with it!

I would have to say that my favorite book I remember reading in school was The Catcher in the Rye. Virginia, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania all happen to agree with me, while Iowa and my home state of Michigan do not! The classic American novel that the state of Iowa loves the most is The Great Gatsbywhile Michigan's is To Kill a Mockingbird. I can't really complain, because both of those novels are also wonderful.

Check out the rest of the winners for each state HERE.
