Every state has its fair share of bad drivers. But, there are actually states where it's not that bad to be a bad driver. Iowa is not one of those states.

A new study by WalletHub looked at the most strict and the most lenient states on high risk drivers. The results are based on insurance premiums, DUI laws, and penalties for speeding and reckless driving.

The state of Iowa came in 9th overall as one of the WORST states to be a bad driver. We ranked 7th in DUI criminal penalties, 1st in speeding enforcement, and 11th for the average increase in cost of insurance. That average, by the way, is 66.81%! You would think all of these things would stop people from being bad drivers in Iowa, but we all know that isn't true.

My home state of Michigan was on the opposite end of the list, as one of the BEST states to be a bad driver. It was number 47, to be exact. I can confirm that, yes, bad drivers run rampant in the mitten. It's not a good time.
