After nearly two months of not being able to speak, Jimi Westbrook of Little Big Town is on the mend. He shared the wonderful news with fans by actually talking, something he couldn't do for a very long time.

When it was announced on June 17th that Jimi Westbrook was undergoing surgery for a polyp on his vocal cords, I didn't think too much of it. It's become common practice in the music business to have somebody shut it down for awhile and have work done on their vocal cords. That's easy for me to say as I'm sure anybody who's had it done would tell you otherwise. Jimi's vocal rest forced Little Big Town to cancel several weeks worth of shows.

When it was announced three weeks ago, that his vocal rest had been extended, I became concerned. Thankfully, it appears my worries weren't warranted. I LOVE watching Little Big Town perform live and it appears we'll all have the chance again very soon. After a couple more weeks to get his voice back in top shape, Jimi and his Little Big Town bandmates return to the stage August 22nd and have three visits to Iowa scheduled, through early October. I just might have to take a road trip.

Just checkin' in...
