It was 90-degrees with a heat index of 105 when the doors opened for Uptown Friday Night. Despite the weather challenges, it was a great night at Uptown.

The crowd was certainly held down by the extreme heat, but Autumn's Waiting and Lonesome Road both sounded terrific as they brought their brand of rock and roll and country, respectively, to the McGrath Amphitheatre stage.

Also, another kudos to the Cedar Rapids Jaycees who donated $5,000 to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.

Haven't made it to an Uptown Friday Night yet? You still have four more chances, including the summer finale with country artist Ty Bates on August 14th.
