The streak began when I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in May 2009.  That was fifty five months and one day ago.  Yesterday my streak of sick-free days came to a crashing halt as I was told that I had bronchitis after a weekend of sickness.  I spent my morning not at work, but at the doctor who put me on a strong anti-biotic and a "puffer" to help with breathing.  Until yesterday, my "sick" days every year had been spent not actually being sick, but at oncology appointments and getting scans.

It's weird to think that since I was diagnosed with cancer, I have never been healthier.  It actually irritated and somewhat angered me to not come in to work yesterday.  I was proud of that streak.  Guess it's time to start a new one.
