Storms Rip Through Eastern Iowa. Thousands Without Power And Extensive Damage For Many.

We've lived on the NE side of Cedar Rapids (Bowman Woods) area for over 8 years now and I have always felt like our house was a "safe haven" - especially since we got a new roof a few years ago.  Yesterday's violent weather that ripped through Cedar Rapids (and other areas) knocked down A LOT more than power.  There is a tree that totally blocks our street making in undrivable.  Then there is the house two doors down and behind us that has a tree from a neighboring house that partially torn off part of their house.  The feeling of a "safe haven" was severely tested.

Misty and I were very lucky that the only thing we had to deal with on our property was limbs down and no power. We hope everyone is safe and clean up is swift and safe.
