One of the biggest movies ever has led to the biggest Christmas box office ever. Star Wars: The Force Awakens topped the holiday box office with a haul of 153.5 million dollars in sales. The movie also topped the $1 billion mark worldwide in just 12 days beating the previous record held by Jurassic World. Oh, and the movie hasn't even premiered yet in China. Jurassic World did. There is truly no slowing down 'The Force Awakens'.

But Star Wars wasn't the only story. The Christmas box office as a whole was a record setter. The new Will Ferrell movie 'Daddy's Home' debuted at number 2 with just under $40 million in sales. More strong films are set for wide release soon including 'The Hateful Eight' and 'The Revenant'. Sure, Star Wars may be setting the pace, but ALL of Hollywood is winning this holiday season.
