Today is Carrie Underwood's 31st birthday, but that's not what this is about.  Instead, let's focus on how lucky we are to have her representing country music, and how she's using her stardom to help so many.  Last month, Carrie won the Artist Humanitarian Award from the Country Radio Broadcasters, for good reason.

This past weekend, Carrie was doing good deeds again, this time to help animals, including one that has received nationwide attention.

Negative comments about Carrie are few and far between, but even when something is said, she handles it with grace as evidenced by this tweet following some unfavorable comments about 'The Sound of Music' in December:  "Plain and simple: Mean people need Jesus. They will be in my prayers tonight... 1 Peter 2:1-25"

The world needs more people like Carrie Underwood, and we're lucky to have her in country music.
