Sometimes A 24-Hour Road Trip Is The Best Vacation

This year, our only getaway had been a day-trip to the Iowa State Fair.  This weekend, I was getting antsy, so I attempted to talk Julie into a short trip tothe Badger State.  And no, not to see Wisconsin football.

It was September 6th and we hadn't seen the St. Louis Cardinals in person this year.  That's a rarity for us.  The team's been playing great recently and was taking on the 2nd place Brewers.  Beautiful weather never hurts, either.

So, it was off to Milwaukee to see my 2nd favorite team (the Hawkeyes top that short list).  The night was a great one, with a Cardinals victory and picture-perfect weather.

We were literally out of Cedar Rapids a little less than 24 hours, but it was well worth it.
