Shooting In Des Moines Leaves One Person Dead

According to KCCI, "Des Moines Police said a potential suspect surrendered into custody without incident after a man was shot and killed late Tuesday night."

Police responded to a call Tuesday around 11:30 p.m. at an apartment near Drake University. They found 39-year-old Cory Channon dead from a gunshot wound to the chest. The shooting happened at 1332 21st Street.

The suspect turned themselves in and is now being questioned by authorities. This case is being investigated and we hope to have more information on this story later today.

According to KCCI, "This is the first homicide of 2018 in the city of Des Moines."
