Around 300 people continue the search in and around La Porte City today for missing 16-year-old Jake Wilson. Jake, who is autistic, left his home Saturday night around 9 to go to a nearby creek. He hasn't been seen since.

Well over 800 people turned out to help search on Sunday but those numbers are down today, with the start of the work week. Black Hawk County Sheriff Tony Thompson says sonar is being used along Wolf Creek and other waterways that connect with it. There are also specially-trained teams doing specific searches as the search continues. Thompson is asking for additional volunteers. If you can help, you should meet at the town fire station at 8 a.m. tomorrow.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier says that anyone who owns land within five miles of La Porte City is also being asked to check buildings and vehicles on their property.

Jake is approximately 5-feet six inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. He has dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes. His mom told authorities he was wearing cowboy boots, dark sweatpants, and a dark brown zip-up jacket when he disappeared. His mother says his autism results in him functioning like a 9-year-old.

Anyone who has any information about Jake should contact local authorities or Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office at (319) 291-2515.
