Rules of the House–Impossible Question
Growing up, my parents had certain rules of the house that they enforced on a regular basis. Now that I'm the parent, I make the rules of the house. Things like "hang up your coat", or "put your shoes away" are common rules that are violated at the Brainard house. A new survey looked at the most common rules people have in the homes. How many of these sound familiar?
- Get your shoes off the couch!
- Always flush the toilet
- Take your shoes off in the house.
- Put dirty clothes in the hamper.
- Turn off the lights.
- Drain the bathtub when you're done.
- Don't leave wet towels on the floor.
- No swearing
- Turn off the TV when you're done.
- Put the toilet seat down.
I'm having flashbacks just like the rest of you. I can actually hear my parents yelling some of those at me. What other rules did you have in your home growing up?
