Remember when you used to shop in December? You could just go out and find what was on sale, what someone wanted, just shop without any fancy name days. My head is still spinning trying to figure out what today is supposed to be called in the shopping world. Today is "Giving Tuesday", the Tuesday after Thanksgiving... a movement to create a national day of giving. That sounds nice.

Why do we have to name the other days? Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. I saw a friend of mine over the weekend that I used to work retail with back in the 80's and we got to discussing this naming of the shopping days. It was never called Black Friday back then. It was just know as the "it's going to take a long time to clean up the store day!!!"

So now we have Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday... days to help remind you to shop. Really? Sounds like some marketing person thinking we need to keep reminding people to shop. FYI... did you know that this year we are off the projected sales marks? Maybe we can make it all back up on Super Saturday, the Saturday before Christmas. I think I need a nap trying to remember what days are what.
