If you found yourself complaining about the cold this morning and muttering things to yourself, you're not alone. I was doing the same thing, as undoubtedly were many other Eastern Iowans. It was a historically-cold morning in Cedar Rapids and other spots as well (see below). Hey, if it has to be this cold, we might as well set a record. And it wasn't just cold in Iowa this morning. Research shows it was the coldest November morning across the U.S. since 1976 (graphic at bottom).

There is some good weather news in our future. Our low temperatures shouldn't reach last night's levels for the next week and a substantial warm-up is on the way, according to our weather partner CBS 2.
