Chase Nicholson of Bondurant is in the Polk County Jail on a $3 million bail (cash only), charged with shooting his 58-year-old father Mark, 56-year-old mother Charla, and 24-year-old sister Tawni.

The bodies of the three Nicholson family members were found Thursday night at the family's Bondurant home. US News reports Chase Nicholson turned himself in to police in Neosho, Missouri the following morning. According to KCCI, he "told arresting officers he killed his family with a shotgun."

Two members of the Nicholson family have little doubt what was behind the shootings. Relative Seth Nicholson says, in the video below, that Chase has long suffered from mental health issues:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to friends and the Nicholson family.
