Pay Off Your Parking Tickets By Donating Blood

If you're one of the many in Cedar Rapids with unpaid parking tickets, you've got another way to pay them off this summer. With your blood. Actually with a donation of your blood! The Citizen Forgiveness Blood Drive will allow violators to pay off their fines by donating blood.

The blood drives will take place this Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Blood Donor bus located at 349 4th Ave. SE, and again on August 17th from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The drives are a combined effort between Park Cedar Rapids and the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.

You can sign up for a time to donate ahead of time by going to bloodcenterimpact.org.  There are other physical guidelines for donating blood too. You can find that information by going to bloodcenter.org.

You must donate at these two specific events to have a parking fine dismissed. Citations up to $25 will be forgiven per donation.
