I've been told that my beard needs to stay. Numerous people, including many co-workers say I look like, and I'm quoting here, a "naked mole rat" without facial hair. Thanks. I appreciate that. But instead of getting mad at the comparisson, I'm going all in on the beard. Yes, No Shave November is over and beards everywhere are dying. But mine is here to stay!

For those of you who did take part in NSN, good for you. The annual event, as well as 'Movember', is used at raising cancer awarenss in men. In October everything is pink for breast cancer and in November, things get hairy. Yesterday, beards were shaved and money was raised. But for me the bearded life will continue. I've had facial hair of some sorts for quite awhile. It was usually just a goatee. But the past year of two, I've jumped on the full beard bandwaggon. I can't grow hair on my head, so why not let it grow where I still have it!

Last winter I shaved off my beard completely, just to try something different. My wife has seen me over the years with both. I was clean shaven when we got married. Every once in awhile I like to remind her that guy is still there! But when my co-workers saw me, they didn't know who I was! That was when the 'Naked Mole Rat' comment was made. The beard came back. Other than the few grays I have appearing, I like having a beard. My wife is also in agreement that I look good with one. And if she's happy, than so is this mole rat.
