Going to this Friday's Chris Stapleton concert in Des Moines or another upcoming event at Wells Fargo Arena? Get ready for new security.

The Iowa Events Center, as it's also known, has added new ways to keep everyone safe, including walk-through metal detectors. Friday's concert will be the first held at the arena with the detectors. Considering the size of the arena, one of the largest indoor venues in Iowa, leaving a little early for the show might be a good idea. However, a small inconvenience or slight delay in getting to your seat is definitely worth the additional security and safety for everyone in attendance.

Chris Connolly, the venue's general manager told WHO, "We work closely with local and federal law enforcement agencies to continuously review and implement security and safety measures designed to safeguard guests attending our venue."
