New Department Store Coming to Cedar Rapids

A new shopping choice is coming to Westdale!

Westdale officially announced this morning they've signed a lease with Burlington Stores to open a 40,400 square foot store in the development, just in time for the 2016 holiday shopping season. Burlington has more than 550 stores in 45 states and Puerto Rico. It will be the first Burlington location in the area and only the third in the state of Iowa... the other two are located in Des Moines and Bettendorf.

Burlington is a national off-price retailer that offers affordable brand name fashions for the whole family and the home. The new store at Westdale is already under construction, and will be located just east of the Younkers building.

Lisa Rowe, Vice President, Retail/Westdale General Manager says, "The addition of Burlington is significant.  It brings a great new and affordable shopping experience to the Corridor, creates 50-100 new jobs and with long-term commitments from three strong national brand anchors, it allows us to accelerate deals with several additional retailers, including a new to market Junior Anchor. We have initial space for approximately 10 to 15 specialty retailers, and our focus now becomes moving those deals to completion, which will further strengthen the development as a shopping destination."
