Carl Edwards stunned the racing community by announcing his retirement from racing.

On Wednesday, Joe Gibbs Racing will announce that reigning NASCAR XFINITY Series Champion Daniel Suarez will replace Edwards in the No. 19 Monster Energy Cup Series Toyota.

Edwards started his racing career by racing on the dirt & asphalt tracks in his home state of Missouri and all around the Midwest. He got his big break into NASCAR in 2002 by running a limited schedule in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He was famous for his back flips in victory lane.
