The early morning accident near Keystone Thursday morning claimed the lives of three people who had recently moved to Cedar Rapids.

The Iowa Highway Patrol now reports there were nine people in a minivan (they had previously said 10) which carried all three of the people who were killed in the crash. They were 35-year-old Michka Kabeya, as well as Platini Namputu, and Dickson Mandiki. The group was on their way to work in Tama when the accident occurred. KCRG reports all were formerly from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and had recently moved to Cedar Rapids from Illinois. Kabeya's wife was critically injured in the accident. The couple's son is a kindergartener in Cedar Rapids.
