Mild Weather Helps Keep The Utility Bill Down

This Fall has been great weather wise. Nice mild temperatures mixed in with a few colder days have helped keep the temperatures inside of our house reasonable. I'm trying to stretch things out here in the Hansen household. We have yet to turn on the furnace this fall season. So far it's been mild enough. Now last week when we did hit the freezing mark, it did get a little chilly inside the house. The picture above is where the house was at Thursday morning of the frost.

Luckily, we've warmed up over the weekend. My goal is to see if we can make it till November 1st before turning on the furnace. The forecast for the upcoming week looks to have temps around 60 with overnight lows in the 40's.

I don't know about you, but our utility bill for last month was the lowest it's been since May. We'll keep some extra blankets ready just in case we need them.
