Maren Morris is getting ready to roll out the new video for her latest single, "Girl," and she's taking it directly to the fans.

Morris' "Girl" video will premiere on YouTube on Thursday (Jan. 24) via Morris' official channel at 4PM ET, and Morris will be on hand to chat live with her fans on her YouTube channel during the premiere.

The country and pop singer tapped director Dave Meyers to shoot her video for "Girl," which is the lead single from Morris' much-anticipated upcoming sophomore album. The award-winning director has worked with Missy Elliot, Kendrick Lamar, Pink and Katy Perry, among others, but "Girl" marks the first time Meyers has directed a music video for a country artist or an artist based in Nashville.

Morris dropped her new single to much fanfare on Jan. 17, and she's taking the bold mix of styles she explored on her debut album, Hero, and expanded it for the empowerment ballad, which draws on pop and rock as much as country.

The 28-year-old Texan scored one of the biggest hits of last year with the astounding crossover success of "The Middle," her collaboration with Zedd and Grey. She's the most-nominated country artist in the 2019 Grammy Awards, scoring nods for Record, Pop Duo/Group Performance, Country Solo Performance, Country Duo/Group Performance and Country Song of the Year.

Morris married singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd in 2018, and she attributes much of her newfound maturity to their relationship.

"Me choosing 'Girl' as the first single, it’s about transitioning from someone who felt like she didn't need anybody into someone who very much needs people, and is okay with admitting that," Morris says in a new interview with Billboard. "That really frightening vulnerability that I've been trying to avoid, I'm not doing that any longer."
